About
Born in the ancient times. The desert was her home, the vast dry lands were her backyard, the sand her playground. Zaradi was born to a human woman and Jinn father during the wet spring months. With her father absent for most of her childhood, it did give her family of two a hard time with the village they resided in. They were considered to be cursed, thus they were shunned by their people vehemently. Even so, no harm came to them in fear of what evil lurked in their home. Many years they lived and took care of each other on the outskirts of their village, among the rocks and stony mountains. They were a happy time for Zaradi; with her mother's warmth and guidance in abundance, it was filled with so many memories of just the two of them. However it could not last forever, in the village there laid a sickness that ran through it. Drought had always been an issue for her people, their little settlement. Just receiving enough to get by. The past few summers had drained their well to low depths unfortunately.
As the villagers slowly died, they began to panic. Thoughts of being cursed for letting the evil live with them had filled their sick minds. This caused a hatred to grow for the mother and daughter who held no signs of sickness. The elders easily gave in to the madness, causing disorder to run rapidly. With allowance, the villagers forcefully brought the pair to the middle of the village for all to see and were accused of evil acts in harming their poor homes and lives.
Held as prisoners, they were stoned for their sins. Left to be starved and serve as sacrifices for their wrong doings. Unable to stop or help her mother, Zaradi watched as she slowly died in front of her eyes. Even her sobs were ignored for while they dragged her mother's still body away to be left for the animals. With her remaining energy, she wished for her father to get revenge on the villagers for doing wrong to her mother.
Screams woke up the young female, the heat of flames kissing her bruised skin. She was struck in awe as a wild storm of sand and rock ran amok her settlement. In the craze of it all, she saw dark shadows reeking havoc on her people. Creature-like shadows killing one-by-one. Unable to look away or move from her, she watched as no one was spared, yet no remorse was given to them.
In the aftermath, a tall, muscular figure walked her way. His skin was an odd color, tinted in blue like he bathed in a pool of fruit juice. His chin was strong and sharp, eyebrows full and low on his brow to show his rage. They softened as he grew closer, a large hand coming to pet her head gently. As if it was given to her, of a memory from long long ago, she knew this figure was her father coming to answer her call.
As she lay dying, she was glad that at least she was with someone who loved her and her dear mother. Zaradi died on that faithful night, her human life over as soon as she opened her eyes once more. As a Jinni, she could feel power unbeknownst to her filling up her veins, her soul leaving her body and being guided by her father to standing. He welcomed her into his fold, where his kind roamed. She spent many years inside that realm, learning all there was to about her kind.
When she grew confident, she went back to the human world, yet being a Jinni meant there were restrictions. She had to be bound to an object and would serve a human to live off of and grant them wishes of their desire. There were many years in-between her owners, yet she had a grand time with each of them. Now here she was stuck, waiting for her next master to find her.
