Kuwahara appears as a middle aged man and he is shown to be quite well built as well.Yet at the same time he is quite bad ass. Kuwahara has a well mannered and serious personality and is regarded as something of a father figure among the squad. Kuwahara sometimes intentionally shows his age by making outdated popular culture references.
Kuwahara used to be called โDemon Sergeantโ because he made cadets at the NCO course run at high port all the time.Kuwahara is the platoon sergeant for the Third Recon Team and is responsible of assisting the commander, Lt. Yลji Itami. Kuwahara fought alongside the team during the Attack on the Coda Convoy and during the Battle of Italica. After Itami is transferred to a resource survey unit, Kuwahara is given command of the Third Recon Team.
Kuwahara and the rest of the Third Recon Team join Itami as support during his raid on the Imperial palace. Kuwahara commands a Komatsu LAV deployed in support of the operations, and destroys a gate in Sadera with a Panzerfaust-3.
Basic Training: Like all JSDF personnel, Kuwahara has undergone basic physical and combat training, and is good physical condition. He is a competent marksman.
Veteran Soldier: Kuwahara is a veteran soldier with decades of experience in the JSDF. He is therefore a highly skilled leader and in very good physical condition. He possesses an extensive knowledge of military tactics and a great deal of experience with weapons and other JSDF equipment.
