It had always been Layla’s dream to be a police officer. With her father being the sheriff it only felt right. Even more so when a criminal had cruelly stolen her father's life from him. They never found who did it, being a mystery that haunts her to this day.
Naturally she fell into her father's footsteps and entered the force. At first she was rather strict with those that she dealt with, coming off as something of a hard ass. No matter the crime her level of strictness wouldn't fade, as in her eyes everyone that ends up in the back of her car is already guilty. However, after she wrongfully treated someone innocent badly, she decided to have a change of heart.
Now she attempts to be sympathetic, giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. She's still quick to anger however, especially when the topic of her father comes up. She also can be quite reckless whenever she things she's getting closer to figuring out who her father's killers are. No matter her change of heart her past still haunts her as not everyone has forgotten how cruel she could be to those that she brought into the station.
