Totally agree! Both verses are microscopic at the best of times, it seems. But at least it leaves room for fun crossovers!
Alright, so I've currently got two potential ideas in mind. Feel free to add your two cents or adjust anything you feel might need some work! (Or if you have different ideas, I'd love to hear them!)
We set our story on a cruise returning to Japan from San Fransisco. Yugi and Atem caught it on their return from a duo tournament while Maka is sent in pursuit of a rumor of Kishin aboard. When people start going missing, Yugi and Atem offer their help to find out who it is and put a stop to the evil.
We revamp the Battle City arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga with it being placed instead in Death City. The goal of the antagonist this time is to fill the area with enough energy from battles and Soul Resonances that it unseals the Wicked Gods, the antitheses to the God Cards. They have to defeat their enemies quickly and win the God Cards to ensure the Wicked Gods can be resealed.
I also plan on reflavoring Yugi and Atem as a Meister/Weapon pair. I think it'd be an interesting concept to see Atem as a Weapon that can summon the souls and spells he's consumed as Duel Monsters cards. Again, if there's anything you'd like to adapt or alter, just say the word!
