Will there ever be an end to
all these nightmares that keep me up?
Each day's a risk I take.
You're all I need to keep me going.
Please don't let go, save me...
Hold me close and hug me...
Izumi Busujima was born into a middle-class family that had everything they needed once she was born. Between 4 and 5 years old, she developed her Quirk, possessing the same Quirk as her mother. However, she almost poisoned her father when her Quirk was discovered. Her mother was able to grab an antidote and give it to him just in time before his organs shut down. The parents decided it was time to train Izumi on how to use/ control her Quirk so an accident like that doesn’t happen again. Her mother, a graduate from Seijin High School, trained her daughter on how to control her Quirk, and how to throw kunai knives. Izumi wanted to attend Seijin High School to see if she would want to become a Hero in the future, or if she’ll proceed with Plan B, which was becoming a forensic toxicologist. Her mother recommended her to Seijin High School and passed thanks to her mother’s training. She would stay at the high school from the time she was 15 up until she was 17. Why did she stop though?
Innocence.
Quirk/ Superpower: Poison Skin (emitter type) – At will, she can secrete poison onto her skin through her pores and sweat glands, making her poisonous to the touch. She can also control the potency as well as become resistant to poisons whether inhaled, touched, injected, or consumed for a short time. Her own bodily fluids (saliva, blood, etc) can become poisonous. If one touches her or her bodily fluids while the superpower is active, depending on the potency, it can cause temporary paralysis, temporary sleep, and/ or shut down organs. No, she has yet to kill anyone. She builds immunity to poison by consuming, touching, injecting, or inhaling anything and everything that's poisonous while her Quirk is active.
Hiding in plain sight.
One day, she was making her way toward the school and some older kids were picking on some smaller kids. This irked her, deciding to step in to try to put an end to it peacefully... it didn’t go well. The big kids tried to fight her, but she dodged their punches and kicks, mainly having them trip. When one of them grabbed her, her Quirk immediately activated, but she unintentionally released a near-lethal dose of poison. This scared the other big kids as they watched one of them fall to the ground. She grabbed the antidote she had with her and gave it to the big kid that grabbed her. When the kid became unconscious, she got scared and ran away. She would run and run until she was in Kamino, Yokohama, becoming homeless for a few months before an old woman temporarily took her in. Izumi never told the woman her real name, going by Sumire Ogawa to hide herself.
Innocence...lost.
Fast forward to the present... She continues to identify by her fake name, Sumire Ogawa, having not yet returned to her family and hometown. To survive, she uses her Quirk to make her blood poisonous if consumed or injected, withdrawing her blood and selling it on the black market in low potency for a lot of money, going under the alias “Violet” while wearing a skull mask. She also tends to sing on stage on Karaoke Saturday nights, which the manager of the bar pays her for. She lives just outside of Kamino, Yokohama in a flat thanks to the help of the kind and generous old woman. She hopes to one day come home, face her past, and face whatever consequences that may lie ahead. For now, though, she’s enjoying her independent life despite that selling her blood on the black market is a bad thing, studying forensic toxicology and coffee shop hopping during her spare time.
Violet is born.
