About me: A whaling, what was the reason for this? The "Elf" walked to investigate the sound to find a grizzly sight. A mounds of corpses both animal and monster littered the clearing she stumbled upon. Such death on a scale was unheard of in the many years she's lived in the forest, but what was more concerning is barely any of these animals nor monsters visible at a glance were native to the forest. She stood in place shocked and in disbelief before the whaling brought her back to reality. It seemed to be coming from the pile of animals so, she summoned vines to see what was the source and if that was what was used to lure these outsiders into the forest for whatever this was for. Tearing through the mound, but being careful to not accidentally kill or harm the source, she stopped seeing a tiny hand on her tentacles' last pass. Rubbing her eyes she looked back at the spot where she thought she saw a tiny hand. She hurried over and snatched the infant up when she was sure she saw what she thought she did. Who would abandon an infant? She couldn't fathom who'd do such a thing as she carried the baby back to the home she had others who she allowed to live within her forest. At first they thought she stole an infant wasting no time in taking the infant from her, but quickly learned what happened and how she came upon the infant. There were several problems, the infant had no clothes, there was nothing indicating where it came from, it didn't seem the parents were either alive or there, but most disturbingly to the others, the baby didn't seem to even be old enough to crawl on its own. The nymph asked them if they should bring the infant to its parents and was unilaterally shut down and forbidden from even bringing it up again. This infant was now theirs and they shall raise it because no humans have set foot in this forest in well over 10,000 years according to the elves, rabbits, and animals. It took them nearly five months to decide the infant's new name since they were going to raise it largely due to the rabbits and animals in combination of suggesting a max of seven numbers per forest resident at the time they announced the naming suggestions being taken.
Raised primarily by the group of monsters, the abandoned babe was raised as though they birthed the abandoned child. As a result, Uska lacked many common knowledge things such as what should and shouldn't be said in certain company, and numerous others. They raised him with the goal of being the one who protects the forest from both within and without. They never brought up what they found out through sending the elves to find out what happened to him before they found him. That was something they all agreed to take with them to their grave unless he found out hints of it on his own. The one who found him was rather perturbed that they brought in others to assist in raising him, but understood that they were necessary to make sure he was fed properly and taken care of. That didn't change how annoyed she was that there were fiends in her forest, but eventually relented and allowed for only a maximum of 6 being allowed to stay. When he was old enough they trained him how to fight so he may defend the forest and be able to defend himself when they were ready to let him wander out into the world outside the forest.
Upon his third year of living in the forest, Uska and one of the rabbits who came to the forest only one year prior became eternally linked. It came as a shock due to neither being on opposite sides of the forest when both were enveloped by a pink glow. Uska, helping gather fallen leaves and berries while the rabbit was gathering fish for Uska and his "Main mama". There was an emergency meeting of all of the forest leaders over the pink glows. Some knew about Uska's and some knew of the rabbit's, but they had assumed they saw the glow from where they were. When it was revealed that both glowed the same color, the elder elf took the two to private and examined both of them ignoring the protests of all present. She brought them out with a bewildered look in her face, she had no idea what it meant, but mentioned she recognized the markings on the rabbit, but couldn't figure out how they got there nor why they'd be on her now of all times. She further explained that she somehow became Uska's property and Uska was a bit frantic thinking he did something to hurt her and begged for it to be fixed. The old elf gave a defeated sigh as she explained everything to the others after the two were taken away and far out of hearing range, but not before telling them she was going to send a letter to the magical historians in hopes that one may know. It was decided the two would live from that day forward under the same roof to make it easier to keep track of the two. 15 years later and there was no headway made in not only removing the link between the two, but also why it even happened.
Uska, now a forest guardian was tasked to find out what was going on in the outside world that caused a quake within the forest and to find an empty island where they'd teleport the forest to. Everyone was feeling uneasy as the forest has never shaken before, but more importantly Uska wanted to know why the moon became red and the sun turned black with a red sky. Something was happening and he didn't like it. He couldn't explain it, but it was like he could feel something very bad was about to happen in the world outside his home and he could feel it in his bones that whatever was happening was something exceptionally bad. Goosebumps rose along his left arm as he took his first step outside the forest knowing he could return anytime no matter where he was. That was, but little Solace as he's never been outside the forest. He was born here, raise here, felt at home here, but his home may be in trouble and he had to go out and find out if there was any danger to his home and come back to everyone.
