Born in the small village of Gongaga, he grew up as a country boy with big dreams of becoming a hero like Sephiroth. Leaving his home when he was only thirteen years of age, he joined SOLDIER and climbed the ranks until earning himself the position of 1st Class. Though this did not come without countless challenges and losses, Zack's high spirits and immense willpower saw him pushing through it all, while maintaining his sense of justice and honor. Trying to save his best friend after escaping the lab where they were held as test subjects for four years, they make their way back to Midgar, where Aerith awaits. Yet, right by a cliff overlooking the city, they are ambushed by Shinra troopers and Zack fails to walk away from the encounter. At least, he would have... But it would seem that fate had other plans.
