It's been 5 years since the "Great Mushroom War", the conflict that ended decades of hostility between the Mushrokm and Koopa kingdoms. With Bowser and his children finally removed from power and exiled, the two kingdoms were comsilidated, and peach ascended to the throne, named Mushroom Queen by loving citizens of both United lands. In her travels, Peach discovered special warp pipes on uncharted 'byways' of rainbow road. These Warp pipes allowed her to travel between points of a greater multiverse and meet new friends, and enemies, along the way.
