Odette Remington

Born in the early 1600's, in the throws of the black plague, Odette knew the horrors of illness and mortality. Losing both her parents to the chaos of the time, she learned to fend for herself, making a living on fake tinctures and tonics that she'd throw together. The people ate it up. And when she came across a certain alchemist who took her in, she devoted her life to learning and eventually perfecting the craft, finding a way to preserve her youth for years to come. Though bad habits followed her, that sense of invincibility led her to drown herself in reckless behavior due to her newfound cure for aging. Odette follows her own rules, and answers to no one, quick to make anyone in her path a guinea pig for her experiments. The Victor Frankenstein of her age, Odette looks to create massively lucrative cures and treatments for modern-day illnesses but hides them away in favor of poisons and faux treatments because dishonesty sells. As if her way of life wasn't bad enough, she was chased from her home during the latest years of the witch trials for "witch-like behavior" and crossed the sea to America. Now, she makes a living in New Orleans, where her snake oils sell like hotcakes, and she's able to blend into the crowd.

The villain type, Odette is manipulative, greedy, and out for herself. Very few make it into her circle of trusted "guinea pigs" and even fewer make it out alive. She will use any means necessary to test her wares if she sees an opportunity.

Wild and reckless, Odette doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, nor does she care about things like wounds or the like. So long as she can keep herself barely alive enough to drink her special serum, she will take risks.

She is dishonest and a bit unhinged, so don't take her at face value. She's more than likely lying. There is no fear in her eyes, and always a wicked grin on her face, so she may be awfully hard to read.

The only thing that makes Odette tick is exploration. She will want nothing to do with something if it doesn't give her a chance to study, experiment, or experience.

She can be quite lazy, sometimes going whole days without moving from bed until she feels inspired.

Odette, despite being so old, is a massive fan of technology. She's had the pleasure of watching the human race evolve, after all. Cell phones, television, and computers bring her so much joy.
