About me: After decades under the humiliating mental domination of his colonyโs Elder Brain, DuโVal regained his free will and independence allowing him to finally escape his bonds deep within the Underdark. DuโVal had been created through a rare mutation during Ceremorphosis, resulting in being turned into an Ulitharid; a far stronger, altered Illithid of menacing intelligence. Fearing his infuriating independence, DuโVal had been rendered docile by the mental prison of the Elder Brainโs influence. Seeing his opportunity, he fled his crumbling colony and embarked on his own adventure. Seeking refuge in dungeons, tombs and underground structures.
DuโVal is haunted by flashes and memories of the life sacrificed to create him; sentiments and hints of personality that should have been purged through Ceremorphosis, yet theyโve melded into his psyche. The Ulitharid wears expensive robes with gold and silver accessories, having a strong preference for wealth unseen in his species normally. DuโVal sees himself as a collector unearthing relics, riches and other treasures from beneath the Underdark. He possesses a fascination with magic, both Arcane and Natural, valuing mages as valuable potential thralls. Du'Val seeks to study exotic or rare bloodlines adding to his vast collection of knowledge.
